A Makaton Taster Session is a 90min fun, interactive and informal session. It gives you an opportunity to find out more about Makaton to help you decide whether further Makaton training is appropriate for you.

 

It is recommended for parents/carers who are interested in using Makaton with their family at home, as well as for staff in educational, health, care and leisure settings interested in using Makaton with children and adults who use their services.

 

At the Taster Session you will learn 20 signs from Stages 1 and 2 of the Core Vocabulary and a further 10 signs which can be tailored to meet the needs of your setting/environment.

You will receive handouts for the signs and symbols you have covered in the Taster Session and a Certificate of Attendance. No previous knowledge or experience of Makaton is needed.
